This congress was the first to be held in Africa and was hosted in Accra, Ghana by the Society of Ghana Women's Medical and Dental Practitioners

The congress date was from 31st July - 4th August 2007

The theme of the conference was "Women in the world of medicine"

Sub-themes:
1. Gender in medicine - evidence based, e.g. diabetes, cardiovascular diseases etc.
2. Leadership for medical women.
3. Health in a multicultural world, e.g. harmful traditional practices, HIV, etc.
